TOTOWA – The Passaic County Film Commission is sponsoring a free workshop on short film production for high school and college students and independent filmmakers 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday, October 22 at the offices of the Passaic County Department of Planning and Economic Development at Totowa Business Center, 930 Riverview Drive, Totowa, Suite 250.

The workshop will address the basics of short film production taught by Film Commission members who are leaders in the industry.

Topic includes script writing, proper use of sound and lighting equipment, shooting schedules, how to find and direct actors, how to utilize hand held devices in short film production and editing techniques.

The workshop will provide a review of the application process and judging criteria of the Passaic County Film Festival, which will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017.
