Proclamations for three Preakness Healthcare workers who received award for compassionate care

PROCLAMATION

            WHEREAS the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Passaic is aware that Tyrone Buggs, Certified Nursing Assistant, who is employed at Preakness Healthcare Center, has been selected as an award recipient of the “Excellence in Care Award” by LeadingAge New Jersey in its 2016 awards program; and

WHEREAS LeadingAge New Jersey is the statewide association of not-for-profit senior care organizations, which includes the Preakness Healthcare Center, that is dedicated to advancing quality aging service in New Jersey through advocacy, education, and fellowship; and

WHEREAS the “Excellence in Care Award” is bestowed upon an individual who has enhanced the lives of residents living in LeadingAge New Jersey member communities through exceptional care and service and personal commitment and contributions to resident life; and

     WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs has displayed all of the qualifications of a recipient of this award by making lives better for the seniors he serves; and

            WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs has been employed at Preakness Healthcare Center since 1983, first as summer help and then promoted to full time work as a Certified Nursing Assistant in 1984; and

            WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs has assisted in fundraisers and also served as a backup driver to provide transportation to residents on special trips during his 34 years of service; and

            WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs is currently part of a musical team composed of himself, Lamar Davis and Tony Sangster who brings the “DJ Dance Party” to residents at Preakness Healthcare Center; and            WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs, who works the 3-11 shift, has come in early to serve as “Music Master” at the residents’ afternoon parties to interact with the residents through music and dance; and

            WHEREAS Tyrone Buggs has spread his warmth and smile to both staff and residents throughout the years; and

WHEREAS this Board wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to Tyrone Buggs by recognizing him for his genuine interest and concern for the well-being of the citizens of Passaic County;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Passaic that it publicly recognizes Tyrone Buggs and extends its sincere congratulations to him upon his receipt of the “Excellence in Care Award” from LeadingAge New Jersey; and

BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that this Board wishes Tyrone Buggs continued success in the future.

WHEREAS LeadingAge New Jersey is the statewide association of not-for-profit senior care organizations, which includes the Preakness Healthcare Center, that is dedicated to advancing quality aging service in New Jersey through advocacy, education, and fellowship; and

WHEREAS the “Excellence in Care Award” is bestowed upon an individual who has enhanced the lives of residents living in LeadingAge New Jersey member communities through exceptional care and service and personal commitment and contributions to resident life; and

     WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster has displayed all of the qualifications of a recipient of this award by making lives better for the seniors he serves; and

            WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster has been employed at Preakness Healthcare Center since 1993, first as a food service worker and then as a stock handler, he was promoted to Principal Stock Keeper in 2013; and

            WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster has followed in the footsteps of his mother who worked at Preakness Healthcare Center for 40 years; and

            WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster brought the “DJ Dance Party” team together when music was needed for a resident party; and

            WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster, along with Lamar Davis and Tyrone Buggs, added a new musical force to Preakness Healthcare Center through teamwork and enthusiasm; and

            WHEREAS Anthony “Tony” Sangster has continued to be part of the “DJ Dance Party” on a monthly basis; and

WHEREAS this Board wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to Anthony “Tony” Sangster by recognizing him for his genuine interest and concern for the well-being of the citizens of Passaic County;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Passaic that it publicly recognizes Anthony “Tony” Sangster and extends its sincere congratulations to him upon his receipt of the “Excellence in Care Award” from LeadingAge New Jersey; and

BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that this Board wishes Anthony “Tony” Sangster continued success in the future.

WHEREAS LeadingAge New Jersey is the statewide association of not-for-profit senior care organizations, which includes the Preakness Healthcare Center, that is dedicated to advancing quality aging service in New Jersey through advocacy, education, and fellowship; and

WHEREAS the “Excellence in Care Award” is bestowed upon an individual who has enhanced the lives of residents living in LeadingAge New Jersey member communities through exceptional care and service and personal commitment and contributions to resident life; and

     WHEREAS Lamar Davis has displayed all of the qualifications of a recipient of this award by making lives better for the seniors he serves; and

            WHEREAS Lamar Davis has been employed at Preakness Healthcare Center since 1999, first as a building maintenance worker and then promoted to Environmental Services Supervisor in 2011; and      WHEREAS Lamar Davis has shown pride and dedication in his work during his 18 years of service; and

            WHEREAS Lamar Davis agreed to act as a “DJ” and play a few party tunes when an entertainer failed to show up at a resident luncheon; and

            WHEREAS Lamar Davis, along with Tony Sangster and Tyrone Buggs, got the room rocking and brought the residents together as they enjoyed the music and dancing; and

            WHEREAS Lamar Davis has continued to be part of the “DJ Dance Party” on a monthly basis;

WHEREAS this Board wishes to express its gratitude and appreciation to Lamar Davis by recognizing him for his genuine interest and concern for the well-being of the citizens of Passaic County;

NOW THEREFORE BE IT PROCLAIMED by the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Passaic that it publicly recognizes Lamar Davis and extends its sincere congratulations to him upon his receipt of the “Excellence in Care Award” from LeadingAge New Jersey; and

BE IT FURTHER PROCLAIMED that this Board wishes Lamar Davis continued success in the future.
