Announcement of the Lambert Classic 8K Event at Garret Mountain Reservation

(Paterson, New Jersey) – The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders and Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. are proud to announce the first annual Lambert Classic 8K taking place on Sunday, May 6th at 8:30 AM, an inaugural road race starting at Garret Mountain Reservation and looping through Rifle Camp Park in Woodland Park, New Jersey. A 2-mile race inside of Garret Mountain Reservation will be available for less experienced runners. The Lambert Classic 8K offers runners scenic views and a challenging course through two of the premier recreational facilities in the Passaic County Park System.

“Each year we are adding new events in the Passaic County Park System to give residents opportunities to get outdoors, exercise, and meet their neighbors,” stated Passaic County Freeholder Director Cassandra “Sandi” Lazzara. “Whether it is our summer concert series, movies in the park, free yoga, or dog training courses, there is something for everyone. The Lambert Classic 8K is the newest event being offered to our residents to bring new patrons into the Passaic County Park System and promote healthy activities for our families and children.”

“The Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders continue to invest in improving and updating the Passaic County Park System allowing us to host events like the Lambert Classic 8K,” stated Passaic County Freeholder and Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. Trustee John W. Bartlett. “This year, improvement projects are taking place in every facility owned by the County of Passaic as we strive to make the Passaic County Park System one of the best in New Jersey. The Lambert Classic is a showcase of the top notch recreational facilities in Passaic County and is certain to become a banner event for runners and residents alike.”

The Friends of Passaic County Parks, Inc. is a non-profit corporation created by the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders to secure private donations and grant funding for improvements to the Passaic County Park System. Additionally, the Friends run a number of events during the year, including the annual Passaic County Fair, a summer concert series, and movies in the park.
