June 2017 

June 27th at 5:15pm, Notice is hereby given by Passaic County that the Citizen Participation Plan (the Plan) for the County’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program has been amended and is available for inspection and comment. The County will have a public hearing to provide input on the Citizen Participation Plan on June 27, 2017 at 5:15 p.m. The public hearing will be at:

401 Grand Street – 2nd Floor Freeholder Meeting Room
Paterson, NJ 07505

The Plan outlines the County’s responsibilities for engaging the public on the development and amendment of its Consolidated Plan, Annual Action Plans, and the Comprehensive Annual Performance and Evaluation Report (CAPER) and any future Section 108 loan applications to HUD. The Plan has been amended to include new provisions regarding outreach on disaster resiliency and Broadband access. 

Anyone wishing to comment on the Plan may do so in writing to:

Copies of the plan are available on-line at http://www.passaiccountynj.org and at the above address. All comments received by July 14, 2017 will be considered.

The Plan will be on public display for not less than 15 days before being submitted to the Board of Chosen Freeholders for approval.

June 27th, 2017 at 5:30pm, Passaic County will hold a public hearing at 401 Grand Street, Room 205 in Paterson, NJ to solicit citizen comments on the Annual Action Plan. The FY 2017 Annual Plan identifies the activities that will be undertaken to address priority needs and local objectives during FY 2017. In addition, this notice informs the public that the County has received approval of HUD to extend the Consolidated Plan for Program Years 2013 to 2017 through program year 2018, ending August 30, 2019. 

Copies of the Annual Action Plan for FY 2017 are available for public inspection and review at the following locations for a thirty day period from June 12, 2017 to July 13, 2017.

July 2017 

July 11th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, at the Little Falls Civic Center (19 Warren Street, Little Falls) - Please be advised that the Passaic County Department of Planning & Economic Development will hold a public open house regarding the Peckman River Crossing that is planned along the path of the Morris Canal Greenway in Little Falls. The County has proposed to construct a pedestrian and bicycle bridge across the Peckman River; the crossing would enhance existing recreational facilities by providing a safe connection between two existing off-road segments of the Morris Canal Greenway

Members of the public are encouraged to attend the open house to offer comments or ask questions. For more information on this and other Morris Canal Greenway projects, please visit the Passaic County website, www.passaiccountynj.org/morriscanalgreenway. August 2017 


On August 15th, at 5:30pm, at 401 Grand Street in Paterson - the county will hold a public hearing regarding the 2017 Open Space Trust Fund awards. The following items will be discussed. 

1) Bloomingdale – DeLazier Field Basketball Courts: Chestnut Street (Block 5096, Lot 4); overhaul of courts, including paving, fencing and other amenities, $100,000;

2) City Green – DigIn! Program (2018): Ongoing funding of this community garden grant projects located throughout the County. $160,385

3) Friends of Laurelwood Arboretum: 725 Pines Lake Drive West, Wayne (Block 4301, Lot 53); replacement of upper greenhouse, $222,000;

4) Little Falls – Paterson Avenue Field Improvements: 160 Paterson Avenue (Block 218, Lot 1); new dugouts and bleachers, $165,000;

5) Passaic – Dundee Island Park Rehabilitation: 40 Wall Street/Veterans Court (Block 1001.03, Lot 1); ongoing restoration of this riverside park. $500,000

6) Wanaque – Back Beach Park Rehab: Back Beach Road (Block 313, Lots 7 & 8.04); ongoing renovations to playground, paver walkways and amenities, $120,000;

7) Wayne – Kilroy Park Playground & Spray Park: 7 Concord Place (Block 2400, Lot 16); replacement of playground equipment and installation of spray park, $200,000

8) Woodland Park – Frank D. Zaccaria Memorial Park – Ongoing Field Rehab: Rifle Camp Road (Block 56, Lot 6); replace existing field with synthetic turf. $150,000

 

All projects have a 24-month timeframe for completion after date of fully-executed agreement between County and grant recipient.
