The County Administrator:
  • Supervises the care and custody of all county property, institutions, and agencies
  • Is the designated appointing authority for the purpose of personnel actions concerning Passaic County employees and officers
  • Is the designated representative of the county government for collective negotiations with employees
  • Preparation, monitoring, and execution of the county budget
  • Serves as a non-voting member on all standing committees. 
The County Administrator is the county's chief executive and reports directly to the Board of Chosen Freeholders. The County is responsible for providing core services, such as human services, criminal justice, public welfare, and infrastructure for the 510,000 people that live in the county. As the chief executive, the County Administrator is responsible for most of the day-to-day operations, as well as supervising the schedule and procedures to be followed by all county departments, offices, and agencies. The administrator sits as an ex-officio, non-voting member of all appointed committees and implements policy decisions of the governing body.
