***Important Passport Announcement: Effective January 9, 2017, all customers applying for a passport using form DS-11 must submit a clear copy of their citizenship evidence in addition to their original or certified copy of U.S. Citizenship.

Effective January 23, 2017, the fee for Overnight Return Delivery Service will decrease from $20.66 to $15.45.

Also, processing time for routine services will increase to 6-8 weeks from the date of application.***

  In order to better serve the needs of Passaic County residents,
Kristin M. Corrado, Esq. is pleased to announce more convenient
and extended hours. The Clerk’s Paterson Office located at 401
Grand Street, Room 130, will now be open Monday through Friday
from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. daily.  The Clerk’s office processes passport applications, files business trade names, administers Notary Oaths
and issues Veteran ID cards.  Please arrive at the office no later
than 4:00 p.m. so that our staff can assist you with any

transaction.  For additional hours and locations, please check
our Outreach Sites and Services calendar.

The Records Vault and Map Room, which are located at
77 Hamilton Street, will also be open from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Wednesdays.

The hours for our Recording office and Wanaque Satellite office will
remain at 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.   Please arrive at the office no
later than 4:00 p.m. so that our staff can assist you with any

The County Clerk's Office is a constitutional office as set forth in the New Jersey State Constitution. In Passaic County the office is comprised of the County Clerk Division, which includes the Election Division and Registry of Deeds Division. 


The County Clerk's office is located in the Passaic County Administration Building in Paterson and our Satellite office is located in Haskell (Wanaque) (Click here for additional information). Services are also provided throughout the County on a rotating basis.   • $18,865,784  total fees  collected in 2016. 
  • 10,278 Deeds and 15,223 Mortgages were Recorded in 2016.
  • 10,836 Passports were processed in 2016.
  • 4,043 Veteran's Id Cards have been processed.
  • 1,861 Weddings were perfomed since 2010 and 205 were performed   
    in 2016.
