NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING

THE BOYS AND GIRLS CLUB OF HAWTHORNE
LOCATION: 1 DOWNES WAY, HAWTHORNE, NJ 07506
This hearing will be held to solicit comments from the public on the intention of the Board of Chosen Freeholders of the County of Passaic to administratively transfer approximately 13,687 square feet or 0.3142 acres of Green Acres encumbered parkland and maintain an easement of 3,269 square feet or .0750 acres (a portion of Block 81, Lot 1) of Goffle Brook Park, Passaic County-owned parkland immediately adjacent to 1 Downes Way, Hawthorne, NJ 07506 (Block 81, Lot 1) in the Borough of Hawthorne to the adjacent property owner, the Borough of Hawthorne, NJ. The purpose of this proposed administrative transfer is to provide the Borough of Hawthorne ownership of the parcel that is currently being used by the Boys and Girls Club of Hawthorne as a playground with the understanding that the playground will be accessible to the general public. The Green Acres restrictions on the parkland will be transferred with the parkland will run with the property in perpetuity.
The Borough of Hawthorne, NJ will compensate the County of Passaic $1.00.
The Environmental and Economic Development Impact Report for this administrative transfer is available for review at the County of Passaic offices, 401 Grand Street, Paterson, NJ, Office of the Clerk to the Board; the Borough of Hawthorne Office of the Municipal Clerk, 445 Lafayette Avenue, Suite 102, Hawthorne, NJ
The public is invited to physically appear and offer comment and/or provide written comment on this said proposal. The period for the public to provide such comment will commence upon receipt of this Notice and shall remain open until two weeks after the Second Public Hearing, which will be the close of business on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.
