According to the National Weather Service, the forecasted temperatures are expected to fall below 32 degrees Fahrenheit with precipitation, therefore, by authority of the Passaic County Board of Chosen Freeholders, at 8:00 am on Sunday, December 1, 2019 a Code Blue Alert is being issued for Passaic County.

What is Code Blue?
A Code Blue alert is declared when temperatures drop below the freezing point and weather conditions pose a danger to at-risk individuals. The Code Blue Alert allows authorities to take homeless people to local shelters or other agencies, known as Warming Centers. These shelters make additional beds and space available until conditions improve and the alert is called off.
