Veteran Stand Down

On Saturday, April 20, Passaic County is co-hosting its first-ever 'Veteran Stand Down' event at Passaic County Technical-Vocational Schools, with the New Jersey Department of Military and Veteran Affairs, Catholic Charities, and the New Jersey SOS Veterans Stakeholders Group.

'Stand Down' events provide at-risk and homeless veterans with community-oriented resources in a single location, ranging from short-term assistance to long-term solutions to the challenges they face.

The 'Stand Down' will feature a wide array of services, resources, and assistance provided by the state and the county for veterans, including:

  • VA Healthcare
  • Public Benefits
  • Non-profit Services
  • Medical Screenings
  • Supportive Services for Veteran Families
  • Housing
  • Mental Health Issues
  • Legal Assistance

For the first time in Passaic County, female veterans over the age of 40 will have access to free breast cancer screenings through the 'Mammography in Motion' program.  Pre-registration is required.  For more information, please call 1-885-289-8527 or email njsosvets@gmail.com

The NJDMVA will have a Veteran Services Officer present to help and assist any veteran.

Veterans are asked to bring a copy of their DD214.  National Guard members and reservists are welcome to attend.  

Lunch will be provided for all attendees, vendors, and volunteers.
