REGISTRATION: Mandatory for all classes. Registration applications can be found on our In-Service Training page.
STARTING TIME: 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. unless otherwise specified.
DRESS CODE: Proper dress consists of:
- Business suit, tie; business casual; regular department uniform.
- No jeans, shorts, sweat clothes, sneakers, or sandals are allowed.
SMOKING: Smoking is not permitted in the building or in the front of the building. Smoking is only permitted in outside designated areas. Please use ashtray. DO NOT throw cigarette butts on the ground.
CANCELLATION: Written notification must be made to the Academy (Policeacademy@passaiccountynj.org)CELL PHONES: Department or personal radios, cell phones should be set on VIBRATE or turned off. Use of cell phone is prohibited. Taking of photos without permission is grounds for dismissal from the class. Placing of any items on Facebook and/or any Social Media will be reported to your department as a violation of Academy Policy & Procedures.
BREAKS: Breaks are given at the discretion of the instructor. Classes normally break for lunch at noon, unless indicated.
EATING/DRINKING: Food and beverages are NOT permitted in the classroom, auditorium or corridors. Students are required to clean up after themselves. All garbage shall be disposed of in the proper receptacles provided. A cafeteria is provided for your comfort.
ACCIDENTS: All accidents occurring on Academy grounds must be reported to the attending instructor and the administration office. An incident form must be completed and retained by the Academy.
CONDUCT: In-Service students are prohibited from loitering in the hallway or front office, speaking to any recruit/trainee and from observing any trainee class.
