The Passaic County Construction Board of Appeals serves as a quasi-judicial body to hear appeals filed by owners of properties in Passaic County from decisions, actions or inaction made by a municipal official.

To submit an appeal to the Board, the Appellant must submit the following items within fifteen (15) days from the receipt of a Notice of Violation / Order to Correct:

  1. A completed application;
  2. A copy of the violation received by the Appellant; and
  3. A check made payable to "Passaic County Construction Board of Appeals" in the amount of $100.00, representing the filing fee. The application will not be considered complete unless accompanied by the filing fee. The fee shall be waived when the appeal is based on failure of agency to act within the time frame.

The Construction Board of Appeals holds meetings every 3rd Thursday of the month at 4 p.m., with additional meetings as needed depending on the volume of cases.  Meetings will be held in the County Commissioners Board Room, located at 401 Grand Street, 2nd Floor, Paterson, New Jersey 07505.
