Home MenuDraft of the Vista Park Master Plan
In 2016, the New Jersey Green Acres Program acquired 8.4 acres of vacant land on a cliff (i.e., Vista) overlooking the City of Paterson and Paterson Great Falls National Historical Park.
The park is open to the public on a limited basis, offering city residents and visitors an opportunity to experience dramatic views of the city, the national park, and the Manhattan skyline.
Over the next few years, the State of New Jersey, in partnership with the National Park Service, the City of Paterson, Passaic County, and others, plans to develop the park as a hilltop destination for recreation in a natural setting, offering opportunities for small social gatherings, special events, exhibitions, and school use.
A preliminary master plan has been developed that offers four alternative concepts for the park. We encourage you to look at the concepts and let us know what you would like to see happen at the park.
