The Great Falls Circulation Study is a plan to improve circulation for pedestrians, bicyclists and drivers in the vicinity of the Great Falls National Historical Park in Paterson, New Jersey. The study is being sponsored by Passaic County and the North Jersey Transportation Planning Authority.

The Circulation Study will identify improvement scenarios to address deficiencies that hamper access to recreation areas and public open space, and seeks a balance among circulation needs of local residents, heritage tourism, business activity, and regional traffic flows through the City of Paterson.

Key Study Tasks

  • Engage the community to gather input on local transportation needs and objectives
  • Identify ways of improving pedestrian and bicycle access to the Great Falls National Historical Park
  • Develop and test options for better traffic circulation within the study area
  • Identify a circulation plan that benefits all parties: local residents, visitors to the Great Falls National
  • Historical Park, and area commuters
