A voter may vote by mail for any or all elections by completing an Application for Vote by Mail Ballot and mailing the application to the County Clerk up to 7 days prior to the election. A voter may also apply in person to the County Clerk until 3:00 p.m., the day before the election. A voter can choose to vote by mail for one election or all, depending on his or her preference.  In New Jersey, any voter can vote by mail for any reason or no reason at all using the Vote By Mail ballot.  The Vote by Mail legislation allows voters to avoid long lines at polls, and gives them a chance to vote in the privacy of their own home at their convenience. The Clerk cannot accept faxed or emailed copies of an Application for Vote by Mail Ballot, unless you are a Military or Overseas Voter, since an original signature is required.

If such voter no longer wants to receive Vote by Mail ballots, the County Clerk‘s Office must be notified in writing by completing the online Vote by Mail Opt-Out Form.
